Sawyer - 5
On Sawyer's birthday we met some friends at the park for some fun in the sun (that we hadn't seen in quite a while!) and some ice cream. Basically this is the best park ever!
Then we stopped at Walmart and bought some flowers for our pots and planted them
He also brought pencils with big erasers to school to share with his classmates but I guess I forgot to take a picture!
He requested Burger King for dinner
And we unwrapped presents that included walkie talkies and some new clothes for his American Girl Boy doll Freddie.
Then that Friday we skipped school and declared it Sawyer's day and he could do whatever he wanted. (Plus a little of what mommy wanted!)
He started the day off with his favorite, Daddy waffles.
Then drove to Nashua where we enjoyed Chickfila for lunch (his favorite from our Houston days)
And then we got their pictures taken at the Picture People. This is another one of those things I don't live close by but decided to put on the agenda for his fun day because we would be close by. I'll share the pictures later.
After that we headed to the big event, Chuck E Cheese.
Then we headed home. It was a whirlwind week celebrating these 2 kids on their actual birthdays and then devoting a whole day to doing things they wanted to do, but they are totally worth it.
The Sunday after their birthdays we had cake with some friends. They chose what they wanted on the cakes and I tried my best to comply. They definitely aren't fancy but they loved them!
Friday, May 11
the day of Sawyer's birthday
We sure had a lot of birthday stuff going on all at once! Friday we celebrated Kate's birthday at her school, Saturday we went out to dinner at Lui Lui's to celebrate both of the kid's birthdays, Sunday was Kate's actual birthday and we had ice cream Sundaes to celebrate and Tuesday was Sawyer's birthday party. By Wednesday, his actual birthday, we had already celebrated so much! The day was pretty normal with swimming lessons and then getting to stay after and swim with his friends. Then his friend got to come over and play with him while her mommy and I sewed all afternoon. What more could a boy want?
He had the night all planned out. First dinner, then a game, then presents, then ice cream. So that is what we did!
Here is the last picture of Sawyer taken as a 3 year old
And swimming with his best friend

For dinner he had requested "tatoes and gravy and shiny meat." I had interpreted that as a Sunday roast
