water fun in Tucson
Today we had fun at the splash park and it reminded me of when we went a year ago. Check out how little Kate looks...Sawyer too, obviously, but I just can't get over how big Kate is! Why do my babies have to grow up? Tonight in the bath I made Kate promise that she would stay 3 forever and she agreed. This is such a fun age! Anyways....tangent....back on track n0w....we bought matching sunglasses!
We are definitely needing them here in Tucson....it was 101 today! But really, honestly, it isn't too bad! The mornings are pleasant when I head out for my runs and the evenings cool off nicely also. And then during the sultry days we get to swim! What could be better?! (If you can't tell, I'm just REALLY liking Tucson right now!)
Kate rockin' her new sunglasses and her floaties
Sawyer giving me the "come on Mom!" look after I tried to get him to look at me for 10 minutes
Kate's new haircut. It feels so soft and healthy
Today Papa had the day off so we packed a lunch and went to the splash park. Kate was timid...the fountains were all a little on the big side for her....but she had fun.Sawyer liked to splash in the little puddles when the fountains would turn off
He didn't like when his Mama wasn't watching and didn't rescue him fast enough when the fountain turned back on. (check out the Kate bum crack...he he)
We had a fun day! And I am taking all these pictures off my memory card because tomorrow I get to go to my long awaited Picture Life photography class!

Discovery Green
Today playgroup was at Discovery Green's fun splash pad and Kate was just in heaven. It was fun to think back to last year when we went as one of the first playgroups here in Houston. We've grown a little last year. Kate has grown a little braver, Sawyer has grown a little bigger and I've grown to like Houston a little more.
Kate didn't hesitate to get in and have a ball. The fountains cycle between big and little and off and on and such and you should have seen the look on Kate's face when she found herself in the middle of the place when the fountains got really tall. She was in full panic mode and you could see it in her face! She ran blindly (literally, she was being blinded as she ran straight through these big fountains) back to me. I wish I had a picture of that face....she soon discovered how fun it was to go under the big sprays of water and she couldn't be stopped.
Sawyer woke up from his nap and had a little fun...although the water was a little cold for him (and probably looks like niagra falls when you're that little) so he wasn't too into it. He had fun playing on the side. And check out how ginormous his swimming suit is. Kate lasted longer than all the other kids and, at one point, had the place all to herself. She seriously spent 2 1/2 hours running around. The whole way home she kept saying how we were going to take Daddy there because it was so much fun. (Daddy is in finals and a little MIA right now.)
I came home and found I got a wickedly awesome sunburn on my back. Skin cancer aside, I really like getting sunburns. So now that we've partied with the water in 90 degree weather its probably safe to say summer is arriving. Just when I was starting to think I liked Houston.

a break from my regularly scheduled life...
If you've seen my sidebar, I've started selling Easter basket liners on my etsy shop. I have sold a few and it has started to take over my life...I'm not complaining....I just don't have much time for anything else. Like cleaning my house. Or blogging. I did, however, take the Sabbath to rest and to have fun with my family. Here are some pictures from our afternoon at the park.

Christmastime catch-up
Here are a few of the things we've been doing recently:
We also finally decorated the Christmas tree
Kate was a really good helper
We were glad Grammy had a lot of plastic ornaments!
(Kate dropped quite a few!)
Sitting and staring at the beauty of it
(Ignore the piles of wedding stuff in the background)
We spent some time at the park, enjoying our long lost Daddy
Crazy Hair
Sawyer playing Peek-a-boo with Daddy's nose
Sawyer LOVES to swing!
We also saw Santa again. I had been telling Kate we would go when Daddy was here and she was so excited to show him. Again, we kept talking all day about how we were going to be so happy and she was so excited and Santa wasn't scary....
Our family waiting in line to see Santa. Sawyer couldn't take his eyes off the falling "snow" and other Christmas decorations
The "snow" that came out of the mailbox where you send your Christmas wishes...it scared Kate
The naughty and nice meter....whenever I ask Kate, she says she's naughty.
Then it was time to sit on his lap. She walked right up to him and took a seat!
playing hard to get with Santa
And its a smile! We've come a long way from this! 8 Santa encounters did the trick!! She finally did it!
She was a little excitedSo was Sawyer
And lastly, the reason for all the hustle and bustle...besides Christmas!
Dani came into town tonight and we were so excited to show her all the things we've been working on! Only 6 more days!
