Eater 2015

We had a fun and busy Easter/General Conference weekend.  We had an egg hunt with friends on Saturday afternoon in the mud and snow and then another one Sunday morning with our family in our yard.  It was our most freezing Easter ever!  But it is always fun to hunt eggs.  Then that afternoon we went to our friend's house for another egg hunt and a yummy dinner.  I didn't take enough pictures, I didn't even get any of them with their baskets!  I guess I must have been having too much fun.  Love these kids!

Easter 2012

Saturday we dyed Easter eggs
Photobucket
we wrote secret messages to each other
Photobucket
then gave them to each other and used the dye to disclose the message

Sunday morning we woke up to find our baskets

each filled with the perfect spring accessories...gardening tools! (just you wait until its warm enough to finally plant my garden! We have big plans!)

We enjoyed a little before breakfast treat...

And it was delicious...

We decorated sugar cookies, the kid's favorite dessert. I really enjoy trying out the flooding frosting technique that is getting so popular and is so darn cute...but as much as I enjoy it, I would miss out on some great things if I didn't let the kids do it the old fashioned way.

Like piles of sprinkles

gobs of frosting

and cute concentration faces

Kate even invented a new technique where you sprinkle the sprinkles on the cookie BEFORE you put the frosting on. Then when you frost them, it mixes the sprinkles in with the frosting! Ingenious!

Then it was time for the hunt.

The had cute commentary back and forth like, "Ohhh!! I found a purple one!"
Photobucket
and, "Look, I found a shiny one in the middle of the blackberry pokies!"
Photobucket
Sawyer's bucket was a little full and he was dropping his eggs and he said, "I'm having a little trouble here!"

Kate rocked her cute early birthday present from Aunt Dani, bunny earrings

Clara woke up from her nap in time to catch the end of the hunt

And the kids ended up with even more candy!

We had a great Easter. My only complaint was that it was 48 degrees. At church that morning we saw some flurries. Other than that it was a beautiful day. We got to do some family traditions and talk about the joy we have because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are a blessed family.
Now off to finish my non-tradional dinner of Cafe Rio pork salad...I wasn't feeling the ham this year!

Easter 2011 - Easter best

The kids were so excited about their new Easter clothes. I think that is the benefit of sewing them for them, especially Sawyer. He is so picky with his clothes and often fights me when I want him to wear something but I think he got more and more excited with each fitting that he was proud of his little jacket and tie. He especially liked that his tie was long and had to be tied just like his Daddy's. I got my new lens in the mail yesterday so I am super excited to do a real photo shoot with these outfits, but I did take these on Easter so they will do for now.

Easter 2011 - the hunt

We had a beautiful Easter day here in Vermont. Saturday we woke up to snow and cold but Sunday was sunny and in the 60's. We have late afternoon church so we spent the morning looking through baskets, watching movies online about Jesus Christ and His resurrection and a fun egg hunt. The kids loved running around during the hunt so much that when it was over they asked Ryan to hide them so they could find them again. They thought he did an even better job of hiding them than the Easter bunny!
I'll post more about Easter later!
