the circus!

Another one of our favorite Houston things that we have done for the 3rd and last time is the circus! The first 2 years it was completely free (compliments of the Houston Library Summer Reading Program!) This year it was a little less free but still a lot of fun. As we were walking over to Reliant I was remembering back to our first time when I carried Sawyer there in a sling. This year my big boy enjoyed lots of parts of the circus...mainly the elephants and the tigers which, lets face it, are the coolest parts. Any time the elephants left Sawyer would say, "where did they go?" and then at the end when it was over I told him to say bye bye to the circus and he waved for at least a minute. Both kids were a little bored in a few of the filler acts but they were both entertained with lots of snacks and their fun friends.

the circus is back in town!

Thanks to the library summer reading program, we were able to enjoy the circus once again! It was a lot different than last year as far as my children go...last year I had Sawyer in a sling and he slept most of the time.

This year we went early and got to go down on the floor and see jugglers, clowns and acrobats up close. (Personally, I don't think I want to see any acrobats up close again....those little outfits they wear don't leave much to the imagination!)

Here is Sawyer acting shy while I'm trying to get a picture
check out Logan's cute cotton candy face
Like last year, the elephants were my favorite! Kate's too!
Kate enjoyed a snow cone and she drank her milk this morning for breakfast out of it too!
Here are the kids that went, minus Sawyer and Brooke. Do they look like they had fun?
Afterwards we had to walk back to Heather's house where we parked and it was HOT (and, in the words of AJ, we were going to die from walking). Seriously, all of the kids, even those in the stroller, had sweat just dripping from the foreheads! It took me a long while to recover once we all got home! But it was a fun time at the circus!

ps please excuse all the pictures. we wanted to show daddy so he could feel like he was part of the action!

the circus is in town!

I've never been to a circus before and so when a friend here said you could get free tickets through the library summer reading program I was so there!! as I was getting ready I was experiementing with a bandana in my hair and kate thought it was so cool. she said she wanted a blue "hat" (thats what she calls them). I was like "I don't have a blue hat for you!" and then she pointed in my closet and there was my blue bandana hanging down. she LOVED it and has been wearing it all day. I had decided I wasn't going to wear mine but she was really sad when I took it off so I put it back on and we were twins!we met heather at her house and walked over to the stadium from there. it was nice because we didn't have to pay for parking. but it was HOT and sweaty!!

here is kate sitting in her seat

here favorite thing was the elephants

it was probably my favorite thing too, they were really fun. she also really liked the dogs doing tricks. and the tigers....okay basically anything that was an animal. she got bored when the really flexible people were doing their thing.

this is her friend isaac who shared his food with her. his mom had brought all kinds of treats she had never seen before like colored marshmallows. I don't know if I've even ever eaten one of those! she loved it

and here is sawyer. he did so good. he was awake during the walk there, he slept through almost half of it and then ate pretty well (it was LOUD and he kept getting startled) and then just hung out until we went home and he fell asleep on the walk back.

it was really fun and I was so glad we did it!
