cousins!

We are having so much fun at Bear Lake! We are eating, wakeboarding, having volleyball tournaments, eating, playing games, having talent shows, eating, hanging out with cousins and....eating!
Aren't these boys cute?? I'm using someone else's computer and swiped this from them. I don't know when I'll start getting to my own pictures!
We still miss you, Daddy!

Utah!

I am posting some random, uninteresting things for my husband and my mom, both of which feel left out while I'm partying here in Utah with my sisters!

So far we have....

bought a little yellow raft to use as a swimming pool. (Kmart was out of actual tiny swimming pools and it is too HOT out here to do anything else outside!)
All Kate has talked about since we got here is putting on makeup like/with Dani. I bought her some pretend stuff at Walmart and I have enjoyed watching herself spend long periods of time at the kitchen table with a little mirror putting her makeup on.

Hung out with my friend Ami and her son Dane. He is so much bigger than last time and it was fun watching the kids play together. They even had fun in our ghetto swimming pool/raft...which is why they are naked together here. Cute boys!

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house. It was so fun to take Kate because she was so excited to go inside the temple. Unfortunately, both my kids were grumpy (they were tired and hungry). But I enjoyed it anyway! It is beautiful!

Thats all for now! We miss you Daddy!

its raining....finally!

Houston has been suffering from a drought for a while now so seeing the rain again has been pretty exciting. Luckily, Sawyer

Saturday, July 18

the circus is back in town!

Thanks to the library summer reading program, we were able to enjoy the circus once again! It was a lot different than last year as far as my children go...last year I had Sawyer in a sling and he slept most of the time.

This year we went early and got to go down on the floor and see jugglers, clowns and acrobats up close. (Personally, I don't think I want to see any acrobats up close again....those little outfits they wear don't leave much to the imagination!)

Here is Sawyer acting shy while I'm trying to get a picture
check out Logan's cute cotton candy face
Like last year, the elephants were my favorite! Kate's too!
Kate enjoyed a snow cone and she drank her milk this morning for breakfast out of it too!
Here are the kids that went, minus Sawyer and Brooke. Do they look like they had fun?
Afterwards we had to walk back to Heather's house where we parked and it was HOT (and, in the words of AJ, we were going to die from walking). Seriously, all of the kids, even those in the stroller, had sweat just dripping from the foreheads! It took me a long while to recover once we all got home! But it was a fun time at the circus!

ps please excuse all the pictures. we wanted to show daddy so he could feel like he was part of the action!

baby Jaxson

What a handsome addition to this lovely family! Thanks for being so sleepy and fun, Jaxson (and for peeing on your Daddy instead of me!)

firestation tour

Today for playgroup we went on a firestation tour. It was hot, even in the shade of the firetruck garage, but I think the kids had a lot of fun. One of the first things they did was have one of the firefighters put all the gear on to show the kids. It scared quite a few of them (including Kate) but she eventually warmed up enough to shake his hand. Sawyer, on the other hand, wasn't having anything to do with it.
Despite this, he was soon quite at home and checking everything out. He especially loved the blinking lights.

Melissa was the lucky volunteer to try on all the fire gear. Again, let me emphasize how HOT and HUMID it was! They even had her put the oxygen tank on her back!
After it was all over they got out the hose and showed the kids. Some of the boys were really brave, but Kate eventually was brave enough to get pretty close!

Our long lost Daddy

Monday Ryan surprised us when he walked in the door at 4:00! Since starting clincal, our lives have really changed. He was always busy before but he could usually work it out so he was home at 6:00 for dinner and putting the kids to bed. Since starting clincal he has been on in hospital, overnight call 3 times already. He is at the hospital a lot. He went 3 days without seeing his kids last week. And when he actually is home, he is studying and getting ready for the next day. He got us all excited about a free morning on Saturday and then he went swimming with us for an hour and then we came back and he studied.
Anyways, we don't see our Daddy. So when he got home early we decided to celebrate for a trip down to Pearland to try out Gringos. It was quite yummy, and the kids loved the free ice cream.

Sawyer loved his so much that he wouldn't let go of it. It got so melty and he wasn't eating it anymore, but if you tried to take it away from him he would scream. Needless to say, we were both a mess!

Finally we stole his melted ice cream cone away from him and gave him a fresh cone without ice cream. He was pretty mad but once we were in the car he started nibbling away. I couldn't resist taking a picture.

And then he decided to give me a few cheese facesKate didn't want to be left outIt was a great way to spend Family Home Evening. On the way home in the car we sang a few songs and then talked about making good choices instead of bad choices since today Kate chose to spray Sawyer in the face with Windex.
We miss our Daddy but we're very proud of him!
