Easter 2011 - Easter best

The kids were so excited about their new Easter clothes. I think that is the benefit of sewing them for them, especially Sawyer. He is so picky with his clothes and often fights me when I want him to wear something but I think he got more and more excited with each fitting that he was proud of his little jacket and tie. He especially liked that his tie was long and had to be tied just like his Daddy's. I got my new lens in the mail yesterday so I am super excited to do a real photo shoot with these outfits, but I did take these on Easter so they will do for now.

Easter 2011 - the hunt

We had a beautiful Easter day here in Vermont. Saturday we woke up to snow and cold but Sunday was sunny and in the 60's. We have late afternoon church so we spent the morning looking through baskets, watching movies online about Jesus Christ and His resurrection and a fun egg hunt. The kids loved running around during the hunt so much that when it was over they asked Ryan to hide them so they could find them again. They thought he did an even better job of hiding them than the Easter bunny!
I'll post more about Easter later!

Randomness

A few weeks ago on Ryan's day off he and Kate went outside and explored our backyard. The snow was melting so it wasn't very deep and Kate had fun finding sticks and then doing a little sledding on a tiny hill we have in the front. Sawyer will tell you he doesn't like snow so he decided not to go with them and watched from the windows most of the time. A couple of days later Ryan got home early and Kate asked if they could go outside again. This time we were trying to talk Sawyer into going out too. Sawyer is still hard to understand sometimes so he made a request that sounded like he was asking if he could wear his short sleeve shirt outside (the only kind of shirt he likes to wear). I told him he could wear his short sleeve shirt under his coat and he ran off to get his socks. Minutes later he ran in to our room with a giant smile on his face wearing shorts! Not only was he wearing shorts, he was wearing them backwards (which happens more often than not here. And if you try and tell him they are backwards he won't believe you.) He was so happy and excited that we let him go outside with shorts...under his snow pants, or course.

At church on Sunday Sawyer and Kate were keeping themselves occupied with their quiet toys and crayons as usual when I looked over and see Sawyer packing it all up into his bag. I always have to get encourage him to clean up his mess after the meeting is over so it was surprising to me. Then I see him come over and just stand in front of me. I picked him up and sat him on my lap and he did what he normally does, played with my earrings and necklace and hair. Then he started acting differently, snuggling in and resting. Before I knew it he was asleep! He hardly takes naps at home anymore, I had no idea where this came from! But I liked it. It felt like I had my baby back. After the meeting was over I laid him on the bench with my jacket over him and Ryan said he stayed asleep for the next hour. After church was over I picked him up and said, "Sawyer, did you take a nap in church today?!?" and he acted offended and said, "No!!" Like he knew he had to deny it to prove he is a "big boy"!

I went to pick up the kids from the gym and Carly, the girl who works in the kid center and is usually one-on-one with them, told me a funny story. She said both he and Kate were telling her that Daddy is the only one that wakes up and makes waffles for breakfast while Mommy sleeps and when she told me that Sawyer chimed in, "I LOVE waffles!" Then she said Sawyer told her "Mommy sleeps a long long long time." I guess Sawyer has been noticing Mommy's first trimester tiredness! And they were both telling on me! I'll have to make it up to them and make waffles tomorrow...

We make cute kiddos

Photobucket
I know I am biased, but I think I have the cutest kids in the whole world. Not only are they cute, but they are cuddly and fun and just full of love. They love each other and love playing with each other and it makes for a happy Mommy!

Kate is so fun and smart. She makes me laugh all the time. I love when she talks like she is a grown up. This morning she was talking to me so fast, nonstop and following me around while I was getting dressed and she said, "I was in my room talking to my elf...I mean myself...I wasn't talking to an elf...that would be funny" and I just burst out laughing. So random! She loves to read and write and is the smartest little five year old I know. She is my buddy and I love her!

Sawyer is getting to be such a big boy! This week we got together with a group of people and there were 2 little babies there walking and crawling around and I couldn't believe how HUGE my baby Sawyer looked in comparison. I know it is because he is, in fact, not a baby anymore and he reminds me of that all the time. Sometimes I like to hold him like a baby and kiss his sweet face and he'll say, "MOM, I'm not a baby! I'm big boy!" and I'll say, "I know, you are my big, big, big, big baby boy!" and he'll say, "What you say?" like I confused him and I'll repeat it over and over. He is my big, big, big, big baby boy! He is funny and loving and I can't get enough of him.

Like I said, we make cute kiddos! So...we decided to make another!

This little baby has been an adventure for me! For the first time I have experienced morning sickness! Yippee! (blech) With Kate I had the perfect pregnancy, with Sawyer I had a few food aversions (like Cafe Rio) and this time around I have been downright nauseous and most food sounds disgusting to me. I had one night in particular where Ryan came home and found me unable to even think about cooking dinner so he started making it. Okay, that has happened more than once. But this time once he started cooking, I covered my head with a blanket because I couldn't take the smell and eventually ended up curled up in a ball on the floor crying with a blanket over my head because everything sounded (and smelled) disgusting but I was getting sicker and sicker because I wasn't eating. I kind of thought it would be a nice thing to be a little sick and prevent myself from starting to get huge from the very beginning, but it is not fun. And with this 3rd pregnancy I feel like I've popped out instantly anyway! I actually haven't gained any weight, which is crazy to me because I feel like I looked full on pregnant from the instant I saw a plus sign on the pee stick. Crazy third pregnancy! This time I have also experienced constant headaches and insomnia which only adds to my constant fatigue. And the worst thing for me is my cravings! Having recently moved I am craving things that used to be available to me but aren't here up in Vermont. Like I would kill for Chipotle. Literally.
I know I sound like a complainer, but I do acknowledge that I have known many people that have been sicker than this throughout their entire pregnancies and, if you are one of them, you have my sympathy. I am also so lucky to have a supportive husband whose current schedule allows him to work 4 days a week and be home at every night for dinner...and still loves me when he comes home to no dinner. I also have 2 kids who play independently with hardly any fighting all day long. They make my life so easy. And I have my little Kate who is old enough to be interested in this little baby growing inside me and concerned about her noticeably different Mommy. I have gotten many of these from her over the past few months:

How cute is that?
It has been interesting moving to a new place and then immediately getting pregnant and sick. I think getting into my grove in Vermont was definitely hindered by my sickness. I missed my friends. I know they all would have known I was pregnant very soon (especially those who saw me everyday at the gym...I'm telling you, this belly shot out!) and I wish I had them to talk to. But things are slowly getting better. I am lucky that I am still able to get to the gym every day and I have found classes here that I like. I come home each day too exhausted to even take a shower but it makes me happy. And things are slowly getting better.
This baby is due October 29. My birthday is in October and I'm SO excited for an October baby! And now you guys know! I feel less lonely already.

Sugarbush Farm

Yesterday was gorgeous! It was in the high 50's and sunny and just beautiful! We wanted to get out and have an adventure so we drove up to Woodstock, VT and went to Sugarbush Farm. They make cheese and maple syrup and we were hoping they would be boiling one more time today but it had warmed up too much for the sap to be flowing. We did get to see the trees tapped with lines headed into barrels and the sugar house where they do the boiling. We also got to taste all their cheeses and syrup and it was all very yummy! We decided to buy some cheese, crackers, maple candy and locally made maple soda and cream soda and then we drove into the town of Woodstock and had a picnic. Woodstock is a very touristy town with lots of little shops. We ate in the town green in the middle where the snow was all melted and the kids could play in the grass and find sticks! They were in heaven! After we ate and relaxed in the sunshine we went for a little walk through town and stopped in a few shops. There is a little river that flows through town and the kids liked standing on the bridge and looking at it. It was a beautiful day and we can't wait to have more like it! Hello spring!
